We were hired by Real Estate Agent Corey Huish to provide him with some eye catching shots of a property he is listing. The house is beautiful and has such rich history.
While we were shooting, the owner told us some of the many interesting facts about this house. She mentioned how the previous owner was a bit of a collector and would purchase decorations for the house from the casinos at the strip (MGM, Caesars Palace, etc). He bought statues, the fountain, flowerpots, etc. She said he even got shutters and book cases that were from the Hilton in the Elvis suite when Bill Cosby headlined there, how cool is that?
The plan was to make this home feel like a resort, I’d say job well done!

Sean Watson, Master of Illusion, hired us once again to do a photoshoot for promotional purposes (some of his previous images are in our facebook page). He’s looking to update his website (www.seanwatsonmagician.com) and also do promotional prints such as posters, banners, postcards, business cards, etc (all of which we are able to do through our sister company, www.weprintvegas.com).
I had set up the studio the night before, created a light set up based on what Sean and I had discussed over the phone. This lighting set up had to be tweaked quite a bit once he came in, as he’s about 4-5 inches taller than me and this required re-positioning some lights as well as the camera to fit him in the frame. We started taking some shots and tweaking a bit more until we finally got the look we wanted. This also gave Sean time to loosen up and become more comfortable with all the flashes, but it wasn’t until we started taking his photo with his fiance/assistant that he finally was 100% comfortable.
The two looked great together and we got some very interesting and fun shots. After a few hours of trying different poses and outfits, as well as a lot more light tweaking, we finally got everything we needed in the studio and it was time to drive to our location for the extra shots we had planned.
Since Sean Watson is a magician, we thought it’d be cool to make a composite shot, of him levitating Darby (his fiance). We got to the location and set up the lights, using our Paul C Buff battery pack (this thing is awesome, it even powered our continuous light which we used to shoot a bit of video). Once everything was ready, we took a shot of the background without Sean or Darby in it; then a few different poses for Sean; and finally, the hard part. We started trying to figure out how to best pose Darby, in a way that would look cool, but also a pose she could hold without falling off the ladder we used to hold her. This proved a bit tough at first, but after a few tries and some help from Sean holding her, we were able to get the pose.
We had a lot of fun with these two, check out the finished product below and let us know what you think!
Eric and Sieu Hua’s Wedding
I just finished editing Eric and Sieu Hua’s wedding video and it reminded me of the fun we all had that day. We met Eric at his home in the morning while he was getting ready and then followed him to the Rio, where he was picking up his bride-to-be Sieu.
They looked so happy together, and the encounter was beautiful, not before some fun moments enjoyed with the bridesmaids and groomsmen tho. As Eric knocked on the door, he wasn’t greeted by Sieu, her maid of honor instead cracked the door open, and wouldn’t let Eric in. They had some fun with him for a few minutes, making him pass some tests before he could meet his future wife. Like guessing which lipstick kiss on a piece of paper belonged to Sieu, doing 99 push-ups (he didn’t do them, didn’t want his tuxedo to get ruined) and taking some shots (he wasn’t so faced by this challenge though).
But when he finally got to see his beautiful bride, it was all worth it. We then drove back to his house for the ceremony, and later on the day, back to the Rio for the reception, which was held at KJ Dim Sum & Seafood restaurant. They had a lot of fun, to me it looked like an audition for American Idol, as they had karaoke and a lot of the guests performed songs for the couple, so talented!
Check out some of the photos from their wedding, and leave us a comment!
